Atonement - THE green dress

I love love love this dress. Never got round to a drawing it. Had an hour to "kill" this morning, so put it to good use.
It is from the film Atonement and worn by Keira Knightley.

 From the Press Association: ‘The emerald green dress worn by Keira Knightley in Atonement has been voted the best film costume of all time.

   ‘The bias-cut, backless silk gown had fashion editors raving when it first appeared on screen last year.
   ‘Knightley’s character, Cecilia Tallis, wore it during a pivotal scene in Joe Wright’s period drama.

   The survey was done for Sky Movies and British InStyle. Following Knightley’s dress were:
white dress worn by Marilyn Monroe, in The Seven Year Itch;
little black dress worn by Audrey Hepburn, in Breakfast at Tiffany’s;
skin-tight pants worn by Olivia Newton-John, in Grease;
blue gown worn by Kate Winslet, in Titanic;
tie and waistcoat combination worn by Diane Keaton, in Annie Hall;
satin corset worn by Nicole Kidman, in Moulin Rouge;
stockings and bowler hat worn by Liza Minnelli, in Cabaret;
gown worn by Cate Blanchett, in Elizabeth;
dresses worn by Vivien Leigh, in Gone with the Wind.

Afscheid nemen van de aidsbestrijding? Dacht het niet!

Wereldwijd zijn er 33 miljoen mensen met hiv. Jaarlijks sterven er 2 miljoen. Onze regering snijdt drastisch in de internationale aidsbestrijding. Onbegrijpelijk!

Saying farwell to the fight agains AIDS? I don't think so!

Worldwide 33 million people are hiv infected. Every year 2 million of them die. Our government is making drastic cuts in the money that goes to the international battle against AIDS. Unbelievable! Because the Dutch AIDS aid works: it has saved hundreds of thousand of lives. These cut downs are going to cost 180.000 people their lives! Please don't let The Netherlands say goodbye to Aids control and wake up the government/parliament by signing the condolance card.

Send a condolence card via this link.
Let yourself be heard and prevent this tragedy! Please spread the word!!

James McAvoy

Yes another non-fashion drawing and another man.
I have been drawing fashion illustrations the past weeks, but I am saving them for December as they have a Christmas theme.

This is a drawing of my favourite actor James McAvoy.
The original drawing and one with some Photoshop touches:
