It's a nice day for a white wedding

Well white and red. Great dress with lots of chiffon. Sexy hold ups. Unfortunately no wedding plans...

Alek Wek for Glamour

Alek Wek is all smiles for the August cover shoot of Dutch Glamour. Captured by Marc de Groot, the Sudanese model looks absolutely radiant in multi-colored eye makeup by Irena Ruben and metallic garments styled by Dimphy den Otter.

Ann Demeulemeester

I adore Ann Demeulemeester's Fall/Winter collection 2010. It contains the same elements that is expect from her; gloomy, gothic and incredibly romantic. This collection reminds of "The Crow" because of the beautiful use of feather statements, mixed with leather highlights. It is truly stunning.
The long and slender silhouette with a superb eye for intricate detail which deserves comment.Stand-out details included mastic vermillion leather outerwear and the iridescent red and green coque feathers that crept down leather gloves and circled the necks of jackets. Ropes of plaited leather and chains were lavishly draped across the shoulders and hips, like ceremonial armour for a modern warrior.

Daite

I really like this coat by Daite (FW 2010/11). It is red my favourite colour, it looks cute and above all warm. Usually my motto is style over comfort (well style and comfort is preferable), but in winter when it starts to get really cold, then I just don't care anymore and I take my downjacket out (which makes me look like the Michelin logo guy) and the Uggs.
This downcoat by Daite looks warm and pretty. If it is anywhere near my budget then I will get it before winter starts and I can go through this winter looking less frumpy. Need to keep an eye out for it in the shops.

Fred Farrow @AIFW

On July 16th during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week graduate Fashion Design Fred Farrow won the Frans Molenaar Couture Award 2010. Fred won € 10.000,- to invest in a new collection which he will present next year during the Frans Molenaar Couture Award 2011.

I love the use of colour in his collection in contrast with the white coats and jackets.

Iris van Herpen @ AIFW

Iris van Herpen presented a breathtaking collection at this year's Amsterdam International Fashion Week. She opened the event on July 14th with ten looks called 'Crystallization'. The whole SS11 collection will be shown at the London Fashion Week in September. The looks represent the transformation from water to crystal, from fluid chaos to a solid structure.
