Meditative Painting
I attended a meditative painting weekend in France.
At L'Huis Préau : http://preau.nl/
I had the most amazing time.
The location is BEAUTIFUL, great owners and lovely staff, delicious food (vegetarian and organic!), wonderful inspirational teacher Batya van Brakel (www.kleurkunst.nl) and a great group of fellow workshop attendees. It was fabulous! I am so long to still be there!
Here are some photo's of the paintings I made there. Remember it is all about the process, not really about them being "pretty", this felt really liberating! Must do this more!

Thanka
Hi everyone!
I started taking Thanka drawing lessons.
History of Tibetan Buddhist scroll paintings
The literal translation of the Tibetan word THANG KA means 'recorded message'.
Thangkas communicate a message to the practitioner, serving as an aid to teaching and as an aid
to meditation through the visualisation of the deity.
It is a medium through which the Buddhist philosophy can be explained.
Originally lamas and monks used scroll paintings to instruct the Buddhist Dharma (teachings).
These paintings were easily transported and unrolled to suit the needs of the mainly nomadic population. You can read more here: http://www.tibetanthangkapainting.com/index-history-thangka-painting-tibetan-buddhas.html

ISIS - GODDESS OF A THOUSAND NAMES
I have decided to draw a series dedicated to Goddesses. A celebration to honour the Divine Feminine in all her forms. Goddesses help us to empower and transform our lives with their unique magic.
I am starting with one of the Goddesses I feel most connected to, Isis. She is one of the most important Goddesses of ancient Egypt is Isis. Originally known as Aset or Eset in Egypt, Isis being the Greek form. A moon goddess, she gives birth to the sun, creates and sustains all life, and is the saviour of all people. On her Temple in Sais is inscribed ‘I, Isis, am all that has been, that is or shall be; no mortal man hath ever me unveiled’. Early in Egyptian history Isis absorbed the attributes of all the primitive and local Goddesses. Goddess of countless names, Isis is the Great Mother mostly identified with Demeter, Hera and Selene, as she is patron of the moon, agriculture, divination motherhood, protection, re-incarnation, initiation, fertility, purification and domestic life. Colour Your Life
Today is your day to paint life in bold colours;
set today's rhythm with you heart-drum;
walk today's march with courage;
create today as your celebration of life
Like a Butterfly, I have been reborn
with bold colours and strong wings

Open Your Heart
Made another multi-media painting.
A shame that because of the glitter it now looks as though she has pimples. Need to think of that next time when I glue another layer on board which has glitter on it.
