Peter Philips

CHANEL creative director of Make-Up Peter Philips credits his success at the brand to his "great cooperation" with its creative director Karl Lagerfeld.

Tasked with creating the beauty looks for all Chanel shows, as well as concocting new make-up collections every season, Philips has star status in the industry - having developed some of the world's most coveted beauty products since his arrival at the helm of Chanel Make-Up five years ago.

"Every time Karl comes up with a theme it's a pleasure to make a new look using both the products that I have and new ones. It's very satisfying when it all comes together".

Mylene Farmer

As well as illustrations for fashionblogs and -magazines I also do drawings for individuals. I even draw pets if you like me to! I have drawn babies, cats and ofcourse portraits.
Last week I did this drawing of Mylene Farmer for a client.

Mylène Farmer is a French singer, songwriter, occasional actress and author.
She has sold more than 30 million records and is among the most successful recording artists of all time in France. She holds the record for the most number one hits in the French charts, with twelve to date, eight of which were consecutive. Her best-known songs include "Désenchantée", "Pourvu qu'elles soient douces", "Sans contrefaçon", "Libertine", "XXL", "C'est une belle journée", "Rêver", "Les Mots", "Oui mais... non" and "Lonely Lisa". (source: Wikipedia).
Désenchentée is still one of my favourtite songs ever. And the album L'Autre I still listen to quite often.

Milk X Magazine Preview

My illustrations are featured in the August edition of Milk X Magazine.
This is a preview and I will post all illustrations in the week(s) ahead (and also the full article once I have received the hard copy so I can scan it).

The assignment was to draw ten Fashion Bloggers wearing their favourite Fall/Winter 2012/2013 fashionpieces. The deadline was very tight, last minute and I also had another assignment to work on that week plus a busy week at the office, but  I pulled it off, worked nights. I am not 100% satisfied, wish I could have spend a bit longer on them, but hey I also need to learn when to stop. I sometimes tend to work too long on a drawing and end up messing it up. So yes I am happy!

Hope you like it!
X Have a great weekend!

Tilda Swinton

Today I did a drawing with pen and marker. But I guess I am more of a pencil and watercolour person, but still always good to do something else every now and then. And the colours are nice and bold, just like the woman in the picture.

This is a drawing of the superb Tilda Swinton (original pic from Candy Magazine).

She's often snapped fresh-faced, without a scrap of make-up. So after a drag queen makeover British actress Tilda Swinton is barely recognisable in the issue of Candy Magazine. Celebrating 'transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, in all its manifestations' the publication features the 51-year-old sporting eyelash extensions, lashings of eyeliner and fake nails.

Xevi Muntane
shot the cover and the coordinating photo story in the magazine, working with creative director Jerry Stafford. Together the two created a story called "The Transformer," which shows just how easily Swinton can switch from one persona to the next.y.

Over the years, Swinton has worked her androgynous style, appearing on the red carpet wearing either sophisticated gowns or tailored men’s suits. Describing her style influences as David Bowie and her father, Sir John Swinton, she told W Magazine last year: 'From childhood, I remember more about his black patent, gold livery, scarlet-striped legs, and medal ribbons than I do of my mother’s evening dresses. 'I would rather be handsome, as he is, for an hour than pretty for a week.'
